Operators earn certification by attending training sessions and completing project assignments in their facilities. The certification provides a credential for their professional development while also offering employers a way to identify skilled operators.

Dream School 2007

May 31, 2007 (Columbus) - The Ohio School Facilities Commission today honored the ten winners of OSFC's fourth-annual student poster competition, Dream School 2007. Through this competition, students in grades K-12 attending new schools funded through OSFC programs in Ohio’s Big 8 Urban School Districts (Akron, Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo and Youngstown) had an opportunity to demonstrate why their new building makes them say “This is the school of my dreams…”

Winners were recognized at the Commission monthly meeting and then honored at a reception at the OSFC offices.

The OSFC sponsors this annual competition in conjunction with the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) Foundation’s School Building Week to encourage students to become involved in school design.  The Commission's partners in the 2007 event included CEFPI (Ohio), American Institute of Architects (AIA), KnowledgeWorks Foundation, and the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA).
