The Vocational Facilities Assistance Program (VFAP) allows OSFC to provide assistance to joint vocational school districts for the acquisition of classroom facilities suitable to their vocational education programs.

Current law requires the OSFC to begin with the lowest ranked JVSD in terms of the three year average property valuation per pupil and provide funding for the entire district’s needs.

The projects are funded by a combination of state and local funds as established by law. OSFC may use up to two per cent of its yearly appropriates for VFAP projects.

State law prohibits OSFC from providing assistance for any space that will be used exclusively for an adult education program, the operation of a driver training school, or for any other space not used for educational programs of JVSD.
