The Ohio State School for the Blind / School for the Deaf (OSSB/SD) project was initiated by the passage of the Fiscal 2007 - 2008 Ohio Capital Budget in 2006. In this bill, the Ohio General Assembly set aside $4 million for the planning and design of a new facilities for these two schools. The project is to be developed and managed by the Ohio School Facilities Commission.

State Architect's Office - Ohio Department of Administrative Services (SAO) manages capital improvement projects for any state agency, board, commission, college or university. SAO develops, initiates, and implements processes and procedures to aid in the successful delivery of capital projects. SAO oversees the design and construction of approximately $600 million in capital improvements each year with over 500 active design and construction contracts.
