08.13.2014 | School District Planning Outreach
On behalf of the Ohio School Facilities Commission, we would like to apologize for the multiple emails your district may have received today from this agency.
A error in the programming language caused the email template to be sent multiple times to each eligible district instead of just one time to each eligible district. Our information technology staff has identified the source of the problem and are working to correct it. Please discard all but one of the emails you received. You may use that email for your response to our outreach effort.
Again, I would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this caused to you or your IT staff. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Melanie Drerup at 614.466.6461 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are unable to reach Melanie, please contact Janice Parker at 614.644.1605 or via email at email@example.com.
07.24.2014 | School Security Grant Program update
In H.B. 453, the General Assembly appropriated over $17 million to the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission to expand the School Security Grant Program in order to accommodate security enhancements at private, parochial, and chartered schools. The Round Two funding will include specific security enhancements at main entrances (only) and the purchase of emergency communications systems. Public schools that did not participate in Round One funding, make the deadline for submittals, or applied for only one of the two grants, will be eligible to apply during Round Two. However, districts who received a grant in Round One will not be eligible for additional funding for that same purpose during Round Two. Commission staff plans to launch Round Two in October 2014.
Please check this website for more updates as they become available.
